I'm the IT Manager for a Law firm. Basically, anything with a plug on it is my responsibility but most of my time is spent on developing our case management systems and reading log files to catch problems before they escalate (servers, network equipment, firewall, anti-virus etc). Most of my software development is done in MS Visual Studio for writing SQL Server stored procedures and a rapid development kit supplied by our main software provider. Bet my code is more sexy than Sammy's :cheer:

Main tools of my trade are my rigs (along with my mug for the old brain lube):

My servers:

And this small section of the network cabinet - this was perfect when it was fist patched in 5 years ago but needs re-doing. There are about 250 cables in there and I need to spend a Saturday re-patching - cba with that!

Writing in SQL makes me want to slit my wrists...so boring
You're probably right about your code though, but that was the only thing I had on my desktop, most of my coding is done on my laptop :P

Also Netbeans > Visual Studio :P

But did not know what you did Steffan.. Is it a big warehouse? Kinda sounds like a job i could be happy with.

The Job at all isn't that bad. It's not like i get exhausted much. It's kinda stressful to keep things running though.

Our current Warehouse has around 6000m2. We are currently building a new one though. At the end of the year we are going to work there.
It will have around 12000m2 then. It's not that small ;)

Jason a scientist? God save us all;)

Baykal nice one, you might wanna upgrade your netbeans tho^^

Dunno why we never had one of these threads back in the days, nice initiative.

I'm working as a union secretary (kinda like secretary-general but with a little less power) for Young Pirate, the Swedish pirate party youth organisation.
It's mostly administrative tasks and co-ordinating stuff.

I also got my own company doing some web development (latest work: http://megafonen.nu )
I too use NetBeans and various similar software.
