its a descent one tho
and if ya dont know how to overclock it dont try it without lookin it up first how to do it.

i overclock mine by using an overclock program that automaticly sets up yer settings etc. program was developed by the company itself (in my case asus).
i aint gonna mess around with the settings myself had bad experience with that, rip pc <3.

the CPU is a black edition and is able to be easily overclocked. saying that, unless you know what you are doing i wouldn't recommend overclocking.
I have an ASUS mobo which has an overclocking programme, fast or extreme overclocking at the touch of a button. 3.6 to 4.2 on the fast setting. not tried the extreme yet.
your mobo is also the key to overclocking and it has something called Untied Overclocking Technology, see what you can find on google. It also supports UCC feature to unlock any extra CPU cores. a lot of 6 core CPU's are just 8 cores with 2 cores locked off. worth a shot tho.
glad that memory arrived today. was getting worried it was lost in the post.

core unlocking
{l Quote}:
ASRock UCC
ASRock UCC (Unlock CPU Core) feature simplifies AMD CPU activation. As
long as a simple switch of the BIOS option “ASRock UCC”, you can unlock the
extra CPU core to enjoy an instant performance boost. When UCC feature is
enabled, the dual-core or triple-core CPU will boost to the quad-core CPU, and
some CPU, including quad-core CPU, can also increase L3 cache size up to
6MB, which means you can enjoy the upgrade CPU performance with a better
price. Please be noted that UCC feature is supported with AM2+/AM3/AM3+
CPU only, and in addition, not every AM2+/AM3/AM3+ CPU can support this
function because some CPU’s hidden core may be malfunctioned

as far as overclocking, the manual shows settings can be changed in the bios setup, again, unless you are sure what you are doing, i would leave it alone. if you overclock, you void the warranty.
