here's a lil help for an error that occurs to me this morning: when i tried to start STEAM i got an error message saying: {l Quote}: Running steam in windows compatibility mode is not recommended. Please remove any windows compatibility settings for all users under file properties for steam.exe and restart steam.Press'Cancel' top permanently ingnore this warring and continue . so I did what i always do when steam plays with my nerves, I deleted the clientregistery.blob, but had no effect. 1st solution to the problem is to do what is told in the box, but not only for steam.exe, you got to check for any game .exe (wasnt the problem for me) 2nd solution (quickest and most likely to be of any help) - launch regedit - go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers - and remove any steam.exe entries you got there - also check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers - restart your PC and you're done from what i found over the interw@b error occurs when u shut down your PC, an error makes your windows turn steam in compatibility mode without you being able to prevent it. hope that will help if you have this Pierre. |
