Hello everyone,

I am sad to let you all know that Em@rel, aka Mike passed away a few days ago. I have not been on the forums, game servers
for a while but Mike was a good friend of mine and we were in touch quite regularly. A few days ago I wasn't getting any response by e-mail or phone so last night I had the police pay him a visit. They phoned me back last night with this very sad news. As Mike was a long time contributor to this forum, which I know gave him great pleasure, I thought you would all be interested to know.

RIP Mike, you were a great asset to SSDi and helped me through quite a few things since joining this great clan and I know that you have helped many other people too! You will be greatly missed mate :'(

Wow i don't know what to say this was so unexpected, I didnt think i'd hear those words for a long time , RIP Mike you'll be missed by many.

To say I'm shocked is a huge understatement !
I can't believe it, he was always such a pleasant guy to chat with and did his best to help people out.

I came onto the board and back off it again, many, many times today, looking at this thread and wondering what I could say at this time. I was shocked beyond all belief, this afternoon was a bit of a blur to me as I struggled to comprehend the news Chris had just given us.

Mike, Em@rel, came to us from Beer'n'weed under a bit of a cloud, invited with open arms after a shove in the right direction from Stefan (Kaney).
He very quickly became one of our most trustworthy members, helpful whenever he could, so much so that pretty quickly I felt I needed to offer him a position as one of our most senior admin, here on SSDi. I offered him level one status at one point in time, which he graciously turned down, thinking he didn't deserve that position, something I disagreed with him about at the time and frankly, still do!

Mike was someone I am glad I got to spend my online time with and I will always regret not getting to meet him whilst he was still alive.

My sincere condolences go out to his family and friends, I have always thought a man never truly dies as long as the people that care about him hold him in their heads and their hearts, Mike will always have a place in the heart of SSDi.

Mike, Em@rel, I salute you!
