It's pathetic. They wonder why the kids riot when they stop decent people doing the right thing. This country needs more like him to step up. Hopefully sense will prevail.

Well, if it happened in England Big Man would get found guilty and fucked over by the 'justice' system and the 19 year old would get a Police caution and a cuddle.
Here's hoping the Scots take the sensible root and the little turd get the book thrown at him and Big Man gets found not guilty by a jury of his peers.

i've been quiet with my opinion on this for a few reasons, firstly, the train guard should never have put the young guy in that situation, if he didn't have a valid ticket then he is to offer a ticket to travel with the option of billing him at a later date. if he finds the passenger is fare dodging, and this would have to be proved in court, he is instructed to call the police at the next possible station. He can ask a passenger to leave the traini, but if he refuses, then the police will do it for him. In my opinion, He bullied the passenger by publicly confronting him and refusing to move the train until he leaves. He doesn't have the authority to do that and it is expressly stated that he should not do that even if the passenger is violent. as it happens, he had bought what he thought was 2 single tickets to travel but had been given 2 single tickets both departing from falkirk, an error on the ticket office side not his. It was only when the guard told him that he realised this. When i go to Kim's, I buy single tickets from Kirkcaldy to Edinburgh, then Edinburgh to Falkirk. it means i can travel on any train without a rush hour time restriction and this is what has happened with him. as for the big man, what he did was assault, he used excessive force to remove the lad without authority, he will be charged and could posibly go to jail for that.

I know what your saying Wavy and yes, the guard totally failed in his job. When the big man approached he should have told him to sit down too BUT if I'd been sat there with some little cock swearing on front of my kids and showing that attitude, I'd have probably helped throw him out. Sometimes people just need to be told.

Oh - also when the guard set up the situation whereby he made it everybody else's problem, the outcome became inevitable. I also know what you say about the two singles is right but as the passenger, it's your responsibility to make sure you have valid tickets for your journey - check before you leave, don't start telling people to fuck off when you get challenged.
