I did wonder that for many months lol, i figured to get an airflow through, to make the heat exchange over the mo-bo and all yer components better. I guess if each part that gets hot has a fan on it/water block or radiator it'll be cool enough anyways
Exactly, airflow. GPU's with after market fans etc actually blow hot air into the case and not out the back like the stock cooler on GPU's so that is one problem eliminated.
My room is very cool so the motherboard, RAM, North/South bridge are always cool. So that leaves only one component, the most import in terms of cooling, the CPU! and with regards to that I only need to push air through the radiator (Do not need a case for that) so I don't need a case
