Hi ladies and gentleman,

Me again, your friendly neighbourhood hobo...

As many of you know I am looking at investing in a proper ready built gaming desktop.

For now, my screen will be a 24 inch samsung led tv.

I have narrowed my choice down to two desktops essentially.

this one: https://www.komplett.se/komplett-winter ... !tab:extra (Swedish website but under Specifikation you can see all the specs of the desktop in English.

second one is: http://www.dell.com/uk/p/alienware-x51-r2/pd.aspx (the midrange one for £698)

Obviously there is a lot of differences between the two desktops, but the big thing I've noticed (not being a techy sort of person) is the different graphics cards, which one would you guys say is better for gaming in the long run)

:Gimp:

imo you should get the alienware or build one your self, dont get Komplett's pre-built, not this one, nor another one..

Any particular reason for that opinion Iceman?

Not doubting you... just getting a lot of differing opinions and not knowing much about these type of things, just interested in the reasons for your opinion :)

#1 I know for a fact that Alienware are good komputers
#2 I know some ppls getting prefab from Komplett, and they havent been as good as they should.
#3 I know for a fact that Nvidia GeForce are good gpu's and the Nvidia has 4GB as the Sapphire only had 3GB
#4 Never heard anyone use Sapphire Radeon cards, dono how they are, with gaming compatibility in mind, are the gpu compatible with most games out there?
#5 If you build it your self, you get the casing, mobo, gpu, cpu, psu you want, so in the future you can change it if needed, you dont need to buy a completely new rig in 4-6 years.

Note: the only reason i would want to chose the Komplett rig, is cos its a normal case, so you can change gpu and such in a few years, witch you cant in the Alianware(http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-x51- ... spx?~ck=mn if you go to this page, and few scrolls down, you can choose your gpu and you actually get to look at the card, and as you can see its not a "normal" card, witch makes it harder to change components in the future)

I would still advise building it yourself because if you buy a motherboard bundle a lot of them come with the CPU installed and all you need to do is fit the heatsink and memory plus you get to choose the graphics card that you want not what someone else thinks you want.

As Ice_man says you can always upgrade a couple of years down the line which you will not be able to do with the alienware.

The case that I am using for my PC is about 8yrs old and has seen several mobo upgrades and will probably see more :D

Thanks guys.

The two reasons why its learning towards the komplett rig is
1. Ive been told by several people that have alienware laptop/desktops that they are overly priced for what they are.
2. The possibility of upgrading in the future. I'm looking at spending a good amount of money to make sure that it is as future proof as possible so that I dont need to upgrade it for a while.

Think either will run fine with a 25 inch samsung tv for the time being?

If you want to add more screens/led tv's at your pc then a 4GB can be useful.

For gaming, you have 2GB cards that run excellent (and faster).

YES!

But as Hans, says,

Why dont you build one yourself? with 10k sek you should get an awesome rig if YOU build it! Remember, some of the $$$ on komplett is just for them to build it!

and if you buy the parts separately, you can shop for prices as well, one gpu or psu or what ever can have many prices around the interweb and the world!
