i was on the MV St Clair with P&O, and the MV Hjaltland and the MV Hrossey with Northlink for many years.
5am watching sumburgh head come into sight on a summer morning was spectacular. tho the winter was badddddd. crossing between fair isle and shetland in a force 10+ was an experience many couldnt handle.

when i was on hms monmouth we where up round scotland doing trials, scenary is amazing. fooking freezing though, was snowing as we past stornoway. still if ya baved the cold it was a great view to wacth whilst having a smoke.
